Day 3- San Antonio

Day 3: San Antonio and the Alamo

Bashful’s here and we are Emily, Ainsley, Sadie Allyn, Lily, Ollie, Charlie, Connor, Aiden, Anna, and Nathan. This morning we woke up at the good ole dawn of 4:45 in the beautiful wonderful, amazing Ritz Carlton of TWB, the “Tahj Mahal”. We drove a whopping 12 hours on our journey to good ole San Antonio, Texas to spend a great 45 minutes there- all because of traffic. The 12-hour drive consisted of top-notch karaoke, many card games, making friendship bracelets, and naps. The van ride was full of picture taking, finding personality types, and deep talks.

After a long bit of driving during our morning and some nice bagels with cream cheese and peanut butter to get us nice and full, we stopped at Flying Jays again and got to talk and take pictures. We had scrumptious Hawaiian rolls with turkey and cheese for lunch and had an amazingly fun stop at Buc-ees, one of the newest destinations for our trip!! We headed back on the bus and headed to our final destination of San Antonio, covering hundreds of miles through traffic. Finally making it, we stepped off into the city and took pictures in front of the historic Alamo. Through the River Walk we met other tourists and locals alike, one of which couldn’t stop talking about his pride for his great state to Nathan.

Back on the bus we headed for Kerrville, with a break in the beginning for ham and cheese wraps. They were much better than we had expected but didn’t sit too well in our stomachs. It was so dry here that we saw a truck putting out a small brush fire on the side of the interstate! When we arrived at the campsite, the bus ran straight to the bathroom (sans pressure) and we unpacked for the night. We spent time talking and then met for information on the coming days. We’re off to bed for what we hope is a good night’s rest at our campsite beside the beautiful river here in Texas! Tomorrow we head to Carlsbad Cavern National Park and we are all so excited!! Let’s just hope that none of us are the unlucky ones to get rained down on by bat droppings in the cave!

Peace out for the last time - the Bashful’s.
