Day 14- Driving into Salt Lake City!

Day 14: Utah

Hello again, it is the Sneezys coming at you for day 2 of our blogging adventure and we are Rachel, Grant, Phoebe, Emelio, Zachary, Matthew, Corbin, Abby, Carly, and Ella-Chase!

This morning we woke up before the sun had begun to rise over beautiful Lake Mono! It was a little chilly in Lee Vining, California, where our campsite was located so we packed up all our things as quickly as possible! The bus packers were speedy and efficient and had everything stored away extremely fast so that we could get on the warm bus and van as soon as possible! As the sun was rising, we had the most stunning view over the lake and desert that surrounds Yosemite National Park. On the way to Walmart in Fallon Nevada, we had some delicious muffins that were either blueberry or chocolate chip and yogurt for our gourmet breakfast. At Walmart the cooks grabbed a few meals while other participants got some good snacks, drinks, and Ms. V had a dance party with a stranger! After a few stops to get gas along the way, we ate a lunch of lunchables on the road that consisted of either ham and cheese crackers or the make your own pizza! We got to visit the Bonneville salt flats that are approximately 10 miles long but vary from year to year which was very interesting because many of us had never seen anything like it before! We had a great time at the salt beds either licking the ground, picking up salt, or even some of us chewing on chunks of salt. When we arrived to our home for the night, Deseret Peak Complex in Toole, Utah, we had a yummy dinner of chicken or turkey, lecttuce, and ranch on pita bread! The Dopeys did a great job with this meal and it fueled all of us up to compete in hand stand contests, volleyball matches, and a basketball 5 on 5 game! We then all showered up and started winding down for bed!

Tomorrow we will be heading to the Temple square and Mormon tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah. While here we will be given a tour from the sisters of the Mormon church of the Temple Square and the Tabernacle where services are conducted. After our tour we will be able to explore the city for a little bit and grab lunch and visit Utah’s largest mall!

We are so excited to be in Utah and we cannot wait for all the adventures we have tomorrow when visiting Temple Square, our campsite Bear Lake, and mail day!!!
