Hey folks, it’s the Happys here once again, Hayden, Jaclyn, Carson, MJ, Sam, Madison, Ellie, Harrison, Annaliese, Sarah, and Jake. For our final encore… we present… JULY 1st!
We started out early this morning, waking up at 5:30AM, BOOO!! Luckily, we had some good ole apple sauce, 2 croissants, and to top it all off, NUTELLA! We had a long drive ahead of us to Colorado, but we did take a quick pitstop at a Flying J, where we got ourselves Cinnabon from the #1 seller in the country. Afterwards we had a great traditional lunch of PBJ, cookies, and cheese balls. While on the road we got to take in the beautiful views of Wyoming as we traveled back through from South Dakota to Colorado. It is crazy to think how much of Wyoming we have covered within the past few days!
After our nice lunch we headed to the Airforce Academy, where we got wonderful souvenirs and saw our first rain shower of the trip. Many of us bought some AF merchandise, even some of us who cheer for Army and Navy! We then listened to some fabulous research from Marin, Sam, and Madison on the state of Colorado, the Air Force Academy, and Colorado College!
Afterwards, everyone enjoyed going to the interactive USA Olympic and Paralympic Museum, with races, many great stories, and seeing amazing equipment and items used by all the elite athletes. We were unable to go to the Garden of the Gods, but luckily we will get to raincheck for tomorrow! Tonight, we are bedding down at Colorado College, where we got a gourmet dinner of Domino’s pizza from our wonderful counselors! After our wonderful meal, we had a dance competition to the song Danger Zone. While the Happies were the best (maybe we are a little biased…), the Dopeys took home the trophy. Afterwards we were treated to a surprise counselor performance. Finally, we had a quick dance party to end the night! And we used some of the best shower facilities we have seen on this trip. Tomorrow, we have a long ride ahead of us, and only have 4 days left so we are soaking up every second!
Sadly, this is our last night as bloggers, but we are passing the torch to the GRUMPIES!!! Goodnight ‘Merica!!! The Happys!
