Sleepy’s again, thanks for tuning in. We are coming from you live at El Capitan State Beach in Goleta, California! Today we had a somewhat late start to the morning, a 6:00 am. It Is crazy how easy it is getting up for TWB as compared to getting up for school! After waking to the encouraging wakeup call by Miss America, we quickly packed up and headed to the HOLLYWOOD sign. Once we got there, we “…looked to the right and [saw] the Hollywood sign…” (Party In The USA by Miley Cyrus). Following this, we drove down Sunset Blvd, to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as the Chinese Theater. All participants browsed the names of the stars that are imprinted, as well as their hand and footprints. While browsing, a premier for “Thor: Love and Thunder,” was being set up. Sadly, we were not able to prank the other tourists by pretending we had someone famous in our group.
After this, we headed over to UCLA for lunch on the lawn, and a tour by previous TWB participant, Olivia Nelli. What made it even more special was that Olivia’s sister, Annaliese is on our trip! Many TWBers went crazy in the bookstore, suiting up with the merch, despite the low acceptance rate and high tuition, #schoolspirit.
During our daily Walmart run, the lines broke TWB history of being the longest ones yet. On the way to our campsite, we enjoyed a scenic view along the edge of the water, and finally arrived at our campsite. Tonight, we are sleeping with an oceanfront view of the Pacific Ocean! Before hitting the hay, we had our signature TWB singalong, where our camping neighbors cheered us on and eventually joined in when we we all screamed “COME ON OVER” in unison! We had lots of fun jumping, dancing, screaming, and making new friends with our California natives neighbors.
Now it’s time for us to go hop in the shower, because who knows how bad we smell (the other participants of course).
Tomorrow we will be cruising down the stunning highway 1! We are so excited and cannot wait to discover all the gorgeous views of the California coast!
